These abbeys are set amid beautiful pastoral landscapes, where a sense of connection to the earth and to the divine. While the abbeys offer guest rooms for those seeking a short spiritual retreat, passing cycle tourists are not permitted to enter the abbeys or their breweries.

A Cross-Border Cycling Loop Through Belgium and the Netherlands
This cycling route forms a varied loop through northern Belgium and the southern Netherlands, linking lively cities with quiet countryside. From Turnhout, the ride to Antwerp leads you through green landscapes before arriving in one of Belgium’s most vibrant cities, rich in history and culture. The next stage, from Antwerp to Brasschaat, leaves the urban bustle behind and heads into leafy surroundings, with pleasant roads and forests that make for relaxed cycling.
From Brasschaat, the route continues north toward Breda, crossing the border into the Netherlands and passing through peaceful rural areas. The ride from Breda to Tilburg offers a mix of charming towns and natural scenery, while the final leg from Tilburg back to Turnhout completes the loop with tranquil countryside cycling. Together, these stages create a well-balanced tour that combines city life, nature, and cross-border exploration—ideal for cyclists looking for variety without long daily distances.
