Lake Garda all Around by bike

The best of Lake Garda! This itinerary visits some of the most famous spots by the largest Italian lake and some off-the-beaten-track destinations, starting and finishing the tour in Verona. You’ll first discover the Southern side of the lake and its rolling hills, passing by charming lakeside villages such as Lazise and Bardolino. Then you will transfer North by ferry: here, the landscape is completely different, and high mountains surround you. The last days explore the hilly area between Salò and Desenzano, covered with large olive groves, and the iconic village of Sirmione.

You will ride on secondary roads with little local car traffic, on cycle paths and some short stretches of roads open to car traffic. The road surface is mostly paved. The route is mostly flat but with some ups and downs.

Highlights of the tour:

  • Riva, Garda, and the beautiful scenario of Lake Garda
  • The cycle path of Limone sul Garda
  • Salo and the quaint village of Sirmione
  • Beautiful Verona with its thousand-year history
  • The beaches and villages of Lake Garda
  • Ferry transfers, to enjoy only the safest routes

Meet & greet and bike fitting in Verona Overnight stay in Verona.
Day 2
From Verona to Peschiera - 51km +350mt
The itinerary heads out of Verona and discovers roads flanked by elegant cypresses surrounded by vineyards and small rolling hills. The route goes slightly up and down until the panoramic Custoza hill. The road takes you to Borghetto sul Mincio, a real-life fairytale village that features beautiful watermills, a castle, and a massive fortified bridge. Finally, you’ll reach Peschiera del Garda following the river Mincio bike path. Overnight in Peschiera.
Day 3
Bardolino, Garda, and ferry to Torbole - 27km +200mt
Looking for the best spots to enjoy the Lake’s panorama, the itinerary crosses some typical villages such as Colà, famous for the hot springs, and then heads North partially inland and by the lake shore. Lazise and Bardolino are beautifully set by the water. Take time to walk on their docks before cycling to Garda. There you’ll catch a slow and panoramic ferry that brings you to Torbole. Overnight in Torbole.
Day 4
River Sarca and the Valley of the Lakes - 49km +300mt
Torbole and Riva del Garda are located in a beautiful position in the Northern corner of Lake Garda among green mountains and by the Sarca river, the main tributary of Lake Garda. Today you’ll ride by its waters and discover a green plain with crystal water lakes. Second overnight in Torbole.
Day 5
Ferry to Salò, ride from Salò to Desenzano - 27km +200mt
After a ferry transfer from Torbole to Salò, which takes up most of the morning, you cycle through the charming bay of Salò, then climb up into Valtenesi, a verdant hilly area where quality wines and oil are produced. The route passes through some authentic villages dominated by small castles and offers unforgettable panoramic views of Lake Garda. Arrival in Desenzano del Garda. Day 6
Sirmione loop ride - 48km +200mt
The first part of today’s ride explores the southern side of Lake Garda, away from the crowds by the lakeside. The ride goes up and down rolling hills cultivated with various crops and crosses tiny hamlets and the charming village of Solferino. The last part of the route goes back to the lakeside, towards the town of Sirmione: expect tourist crowds here, but Sirmione’s fame is well-deserved! Second overnight in Desenzano
Day 7
From Desenzano to Verona - 57km
Your last ride initially crosses the area where the Lugana white wine is produced, where rolling hills are covered with large vineyards and olive groves.
